Discovery

During the discovery process, PINT gathers and analyzes data that is used to inform decisions about impactful website changes. This often includes end user testing and interviews, stakeholder interviews, website analytics review, and real user monitoring.

Sitemap

Once the discovery process is complete, PINT creates a proposed sitemap. A sitemap is a hierarchical, visual layout that denotes each section or page of a website. This will serve a blueprint for the new site structure that will later be implemented.

Wireframes

Once the sitemap is reviewed and agreed upon, PINT will mockup wireframes for key site pages. Wireframes are greyscale, low fidelity composites intended to identify and confirm the layout and content structure of key pages. Wireframes are usually created for each main page that represents a template structure that other pages will follow.

SEO

In conjuction with with Information Architecture deliverables (sitemap and wireframes), PINT will implement SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices to ensure the site performs optimally in search engines for relevant keywords. This includes keyword research for branded and unbranded search terms, metadata writing or recommendations, title and keyword optimizations, and later implementing development best practices such as mobile and performance optimization for Technical SEO considerations.

Visual Design

Once the sitemap and wireframes have been reviewed and approved, visual design begins. This process often begins with the creation of a digital mood board to showcase imagery, typography, color usage and other design ideas. Later in the process, design composites emerge, showcasing how the proposed new site will look and feel.

Stage Site

After visual design is approved, PINT will build the site in a stage environment. PINT builds sites according to web standards and best practices, always keeping the "ilities" in mind (accessibility, discoverability, extensibility, maintainability, reliability, portability, usability, and of course performance, even though it doesn't end in "ility"). In the stage environment, PINT performs QA across a browser and device matrix informed by a client's web analytics usage patterns and provides the opportunity for the client to review the site as well.

Production Site

Once the stage site is reviewed and approved, PINT will deploy the new site live to a production environment. In advance of deploying the new site live, PINT will work from a deployment checklist and coordinate with any members of the client's team, ensuring a seamless transition from the old to the new site.
